My name is Jamie Walter, I am a photographer from the east coast of the USA. I specialize in action, adventure, and landscape photography, along with commercial and editorial assignments.

I was born and raised in the great state of Maine. I spent a good chunk of my childhood outside and find myself at home in nature; I am happiest in the mountains, on the ocean, or any where trees outnumber people. I am an outdoor enthusiast, passionate skier, surfer, and adventurer. I am incredibly lucky to photograph my favorite activities as a career.

I currently work as a freelance photographer, and am based out of Sugarloaf Mountain, Maine. Many of you know me from my time working for "the Loaf" as the Marketing Content Manager & Staff Photographer from 2013-2016. When I'm not out and about in the western mountains of Maine, you can find me traveling, helping Newschoolers.com as Photo-Editor-at-Large, developing personal projects, or behind my computer sorting through way too many images.

My passion for capturing moments began at a young age, when I started making home movies on a Canon ZR80 Mini-DV Camcorder. A lot of those clips were of skiing, filmed mostly in my backyard and around Sugarloaf. When I got older, I saved up money to purchase a Canon DSLR that shot both videos and photos, and ended up falling in love with photography. My style and skills have evolved over the years, and I continue to learn something new every day; getting out into the field and challenging my skills is one of the most rewarding parts of the trade for me.

Why do I love photography? Photos have always captured my imagination more than any other medium. Each image preserves a moment in time forever - the location, the action, the emotion, the beauty. A truly great photograph is powerful enough to fully immerse the viewer into the moment, making them feel like they're a part of the scene. I am so incredibly fortunate to find myself doing amazing things in beautiful places, that taking photos of these situations helps me share that excitement with my family, friends, and the world.

Thank you for checking out my work - I truly appreciate your support.
